Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

  • Main Destination: Arusha (City)

  • Accommodation: Karibu Heritage House – Budget hotel in Arusha

  • Meals & Drinks: None

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Time permitting, enjoy an optional Arusha city tour, visiting the Cultural Heritage Gallery, local market, and Maasai Market.


Day 2: Tarangire National Park

  • Main Destination: Tarangire NP

  • Accommodation: Budget camping – inside Tarangire NP

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

After breakfast, drive ~2.5 hours to Tarangire. Famous for its elephants and baobab trees, explore the park from an open-roof vehicle. Picnic lunch and afternoon game drive, ending with sunset views before camping overnight.


Day 3: Tarangire National Park

  • Main Destination: Tarangire NP

  • Accommodation: Budget camping – inside Tarangire NP

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Morning game drive along the Tarangire River, spotting elephants, lions, zebras, and giraffes. Picnic lunch at a scenic location, then continue exploring seasonal swamps and open savannahs. Visit Silale Swamp for birdwatching and predator spotting. Sunset game drive and overnight at camp.


Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park

  • Main Destination: Lake Manyara NP

  • Accommodation: Fig Tree Lodge & Camp – Budget lodge near Lake Manyara

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Drive to Lake Manyara, a diverse park with a shallow salt lake attracting thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. Wildlife includes monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and tree-climbing lions. Overnight at Fig Tree Lodge.


Day 5: Serengeti National Park

  • Main Destination: Serengeti NP

  • Accommodation: Budget Rest House – Central Serengeti NP

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Drive through the crater highlands with a stop at Ngorongoro Crater rim for breathtaking views. Continue to the Serengeti “endless plains,” home to over 2 million wildebeest and large predators. Afternoon game drive, then dinner and overnight at the Rest House.


Day 6: Serengeti National Park

  • Main Destination: Serengeti NP

  • Accommodation: Budget Rest House – Central Serengeti NP

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Full-day game drive exploring the Serengeti, searching for the Big Five and witnessing the great migration. Return to the Rest House for dinner and overnight.


Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro (Simba Campsite)

  • Main Destination: Serengeti & Ngorongoro Highlands

  • Accommodation: Budget camping – Crater rim of Ngorongoro

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Sunrise game drive in Serengeti before heading to Ngorongoro. Picnic breakfast in the bush, then continue the drive to Simba Campsite for dinner and overnight.


Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

  • Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater

  • Accommodation: Budget camping – Crater rim

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Early morning game drive descending into Ngorongoro Crater. Spot wildlife including the rare black rhino. Explore rivers, swamps, flamingo-filled soda lakes, and open plains. Return to Simba Campsite for dinner and overnight.


Day 9: Empakaai Crater Walking Safari

  • Main Destination: Empakaai Crater, Ngorongoro Highlands

  • Accommodation: Budget camping

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Guided walking safari along Empakaai Crater rim. Trek into the crater, spotting wildlife and flamingos. Return to Simba Campsite for lunch, then drive to Lake Eyasi for dinner and overnight.


Day 10: Cultural Visit – Hadzabe & Datoga at Lake Eyasi

  • Main Destination: Lake Eyasi

  • Accommodation: Karibu Heritage House – Arusha

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Experience the Hadza hunter-gatherer lifestyle and learn their traditional hunting and gathering techniques. Visit the Datoga people, known for their craftsmanship. Return to Arusha for dinner and overnight.


Day 11: Materuni Waterfalls & Chemka Hot Springs

  • Main Destination: Mount Kilimanjaro area

  • Accommodation: No accommodation (tour ends)

  • Meals & Drinks: Breakfast & Lunch; drinks (except spirits/liquor)

Morning hike to Materuni Waterfalls through lush coffee farms, exploring Chagga culture. Enjoy a hands-on coffee-making experience and traditional lunch. Visit Chemka Hot Springs for a swim and relaxation before returning to Arusha, concluding your safari.
