Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive approximately 2 hours to Tarangire National Park, a sanctuary renowned for its massive baobab trees and the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. Enjoy a full-day game drive as you explore river valleys, seasonal marshes, and open woodlands teeming with wildlife.

What to expect:

• Large elephant herds

• Lions, leopards, cheetahs (occasionally)

• Giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes

• Over 550 bird species

After your safari, drive to your lodge in the Mto wa Mbu or Karatu area for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Today, your journey continues to the legendary Serengeti National Park, the land of endless plains and home to the Great Wildebeest Migration. Pass through the Ngorongoro highlands and descend onto the sweeping Serengeti savannah.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive where you may encounter:

• Lions and cheetahs patrolling the grasslands

• Elephant and buffalo herds

• Hyenas, jackals, and numerous antelope species

• Migrating wildebeests and zebras (seasonal)

Arrive at your Serengeti camp or lodge in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro (Overnight in Karatu)

Begin your day with a morning game drive in the Serengeti, taking in the beauty of sunrise over the plains as wildlife becomes active. Afterward, proceed toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with more wildlife sightings along the way.

By late afternoon, arrive in the highlands and continue to Karatu town, where you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend 600 meters to the crater floor—one of the world’s most remarkable natural sanctuaries. Enjoy a half-day game drive in this enclosed ecosystem packed with wildlife.

What to expect:

• Excellent chances of seeing the Big Five

• The endangered black rhino

• Lions, hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, hippos

• Diverse birdlife and seasonal flamingos

• Stunning scenery inside the collapsed caldera

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater and beginning your drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
